Nokogiri hike - Jan 25th

The last big outing we did with Marcus&Gaby was the Nokogiri hike.  This was probably our favorite trip last time we were here.  It involves a short train ride, a ferry ride, a tram ride, and a hike to the giant Buddha sculpture.  We got up early enough to catch the ferry just after 9am.

Outside on the ferry deck

We saw a bunch of fishing boats out in Tokyo Bay
The ferry ride is about 45 minutes long

Next we have to walk to the tram.  Wow, I look really grouchy in this photo, I think because Tristan was already complaining about his legs hurting 100 ft out of the ferry terminal.

In the tram

Heading on up

The views from the observation point

Next stop was the giant carving

That's me up there on the overhang! (Chad took this from down below)

There's Chad and the boys (I took this picture from another point that was across the way)

Another observation point on our hike

We made  it to the giant buddha picnic area

Chad has to take a picture of me messing with my new toy

And here's the selfie!

Family pic

Just to give a perspective of how impressive the sculpture is when you stand back a bit.

There's lot of stairs on this hike but they are well maintained since you have to pay to get into this area (kinda like a national park)

Back at the ferry terminal I went inside the BaumKuchen museum and got a picture of them making these yummy "tree" cakes.  (I also bought one that we ate for dessert later)

Tristan feel asleep on the ferry on the way home :)

That observation point is scary! So do the ferry's there look like the wa ones? Is there cars on them?
