taking care of business

So I'm thinking about starting an email announcement for those that don't use the RSS feed. If you'd like to be informed of when I update the blog, send me an email or comment.

Today, the garbage truck came to take care of his business and the kids had a great time watching from our balcony because the truck was right there. I was thankful that it was recycling and not garbage because I did not want to smell the dumpster being loaded into the truck that was right outside our patio! Abby cried when it drove off, poor Abby, such a rough life she has :)

Also, Chad found out that we are most likely coming back to San Diego for a month in January. We'd love to have visitors so start looking for those plane tickets!

pool time

Going to the pool has to be the kids favorite activity! It's a chillier than I would like but I manage for awhile then jump in the hottub (which is actually broken at the moment, {argh} I think this will be the last time we stay in this complex!).

Abby is telling me how daddy is underwater (I think she was concerned):
Look at those cute eyelashes!
Jamie is just about outgrown his floater suit. Time for swimming lessons!
Abby just likes to sit on the top step and play with her "nemo" squirter:

Abby didn't really want to be in the water here (she gets cold like I do):
"Mommy will you get in with me????"
"I suppose..."

more fun

My little turkeys! We went to the neighborhood library on Thursday where they had preschool storytime and a free craft for the kids where they made these cute turkeys (okay, so I did most of the work!):

So Chad is off his 12 hour shifts, he's now working swing for the next 2 days and then Wednesday he has it totally off. Only bad thing about taking a day off down here is that you have to pay for instead of Mr. Sam :( But that is okay, I'm going to lose my sanity if I don't get my husband back! Here are some pics from around the apartment. Speaking of the apartment, we are moving to a hotel on Tuesday. This place was not well cleaned before we moved in and I just want to get out of here. Plus Chad has to turn his car in on Wednesday so we'll be right downtown where we can take the bus or trolley, or walk wherever!

trip to the zoo

Chad took the kids to zoo while I took a much needed break. Chad is working 12 hour graveyard shifts 7 days a week, so I'm a bit worn out by the kids. At least it's just a short trip and hopefully Chad will get off Tuesday morning and we'll have the rest of the time to do stuff together.
Now every time since Aunt Carrie showed Jamie the snake house, he insists on going in there:
And of course he has to see the big yellow snake:
Abby is excited to go on the aerial tram:
On the tram:

Pointing out the tram again (in unison):
Jamie's joined the giraffe family:

san diego fun

Abby is totally into putting on Jamie's "pack-pack". She really wants to be a big girl these days, "do-ey" (do it) is a common word around here! Oh, and she seems to have forgotten about the deer "biting"!

Chad is always commenting about the bird of paradise flowers but then Jamie came up with this thing all on his own. He'll grab the flower and move it up and down like it's talking and say in his *low* tone of voice: "hi, i'm a bird and I live around bushes." It's too funny!

Making our way to the trolley, or choo-choo as Abby calls it.

Wild Animal Park

Our first day we went to the Wild Animal Park. There is a heat-wave here right now and it was in the 80's. I think the kids were a little shocked with the enormous temperature shift. Jamie said "I just want to go back to the apartment." Well, we did manage to take the Journey into Africa tour ride, visit the petting corale, and take a ride on the carousel. Then we headed back and Jamie got his chance to go in the pool like he'd been talking about for weeks!

Abby looks out the tram:
Mr. Personality!
Dad & daughter...

Enjoying the "safari" ride:

The kids have fun at the fountains:

Abby pets a deer:
See her holding her arm in? She walked up to another deer who tried to "nuzzle" with her arm, which scared and embarrassed her. She was done with the petting corale so I took her out and she told the lady in charge that the deer bit her "biye!" (saying it as she held her arm).
Jamie's thinking about it:
Yay for Jamie!
Riding the carousel:

Later that night Abby had trouble sleeping, she kept waking up crying. So I took her out on the couch and amidst her cries she said "no, no, bite!" (clutching her arm).

Abby's birthday party

Abby had such a great time at her 2nd birthday party (probably cuz she was deprived of a 1st birthday party). Our house was packed with family and friends and we counted 15 kids! Wow, there are too many photos to narrate, so thanks for looking!
