after church, mini golf

After church on Sunday Abby was playing with a water bottle and it got away from her. She was so close to crawling, but she got her leg stuck under her (must've been the hardwood). She can now go from laying down to sitting, so it shouldn't be long!

Then on Sunday evening we went to a place called Boomers where they have mini-golf, go-karts, rides, bumper boats, arcade, etc. We all played a round of mini-golf and sadly the girls lost poorly to the guys. (At least we won both games of Cranium). After the golf game, Chad and Pat went on the go-karts, and I took Jamie on the firetruck ride (went round-and-round in a circle, up in the air).

Chad is not happy with his first shot...
...it went all the down to the end and came back.
Pat's turn...
Kristy's turn...

Now here's Pat in another blue car, I guess they both passed the same people!

pool fun

Jamie has had so fun swimming with Pat and Kristy. Before they got here we bought him a swimmer suit at the Aquasphere outlet store and it helps him to stay afloat really well! I didn't think of it, but the first time Chad saw him in it he said "you're wearing trunks with that boy!". It actually looks really cute with trunks over it too, but I don't have any pictures of that yet. He only used it 3 times now and can almost swim by himself although he still gets scared. Maybe by the end of the summer we'll have ourselves a little fish. Abby loves the water too but it's a little hard for me to take pictures of her when I'm holding her in the water. Hopefully soon I'll get Chad to take some photos and a video. She just kicks and kicks, and flaps her arms. I want to get a little baby boat for her to sit in.

Note: I figured out that I was taking video at the lower resolution on my camera (15 frames per second instead of 30 fps). So switched it over to 30fps, which is what these videos are, but I have discovered that they look worse when uploaded to google video. So, I think I will go back to the 15fps because they still looked good, looked better on google video, and took up less space and less time to upload. So these videos will not look as good, but hopefully the next ones will.

Abby just watches in her stroller - we bought her a peapod tent like Eli so hopefully it will arrive soon.

Jamie peeks up while going around the edge of the pool.
Time to jump in-

Time to go in circles-

to the zoo

Yesterday we went to the zoo with Pat&Kristy. It was a zoo at the zoo, but we still had fun. The kids melted down around midday (and the adults were melting from the heat) so we headed back to the apartment and took naps. Of course, Jamie had to see the snakes too, so Kristy took him through there, since it freaks Chad out.

Pat and Kristy are here!

Pat and Kristy flew in yesterday and we've already been having a great time! They'll be staying with us until Monday.

Out at Ocean Beach after the farmer's market:

Self-portraits:

The girls whooped the guys a**es at Cranium. (The girls are yellow in the middle, the guys are blue, back on the slow track in the blue section).

baby train

We finally made it to Balboa park to ride the mini-train that they have there. It is a really cute extra-large model railroad. It is right outside of the zoo, so some of the cars have stuffed animals in them. Adults and kids can ride on it, each for $2.00. Both Abby and Jamie enjoyed riding it. We ended up going on Sunday evening, right before we went to the zoo for a few hours. We finished the day by going out to eat at Anthony's fish grotto. An outdoor dining place on the downtown waterfront, similar to Ivar's fish bar.

Waiting our turn for the train ride.

Here comes the train!

Some of the animals were a little decrepit...

All aboard!

Abby's excited too...

Trying to see where we're going:

She's just a little short in the train car...

Here we go!

Wave hello Abby! Wait, it's against the rules to stand up - no, no!
