The way Jamie sees it - week of 9/29

9/23
"I'm too busy take nap - 'tay up", said when asked if he wanted to take a nap.

9/24
[me] "mommy doesn't want to go the pool because it's too cold"
[Jamie] "not cold no more, just warm - baby(maybe)?" said with his shoulders shrugged, hands up and curved out, eyebrows raised, voice inflected on the "baby?" It's hard to describe without a picture, but it was so cute, and so grownup!

9/26
"Oh that wishous (delicious)!" He says this after anytime he eats "wike coooo-kie monter".

9/27
"Mommy give Abby ba-ba, Abby take nap, Jamie watch Cars - okay?" This is at 8:30 in the morning, a bit after I told him he could watch a movie when Abby takes a nap. Apparently he can't wait.

9/28
[me] Do you want to go on a big boat and see helicopters and airplanes?
[Jamie] No, I'm busy go to Garget.
[me] What are you going to get at Target?
[Jamie] Um, go pool.
[me] Who's going to take you to the pool?
[Jamie] helicopters?

9/29
"Abby dit dill (sit still), Abby no crawl 'round" (Jamie doesn't like it when she gets in the way of the t.v. or crawls over him)

kiddos

I edited this picture of Abby with my Photoshop Elements.

So, last week the kids were both under the weather with a cold and twice I looked around to see where they were and they were both just laying there on the floor! And what was even funnier was they were both facing the exact same direction, but in totally different parts of the house! By the time I had grabbed the camera, they had moved slightly, but it was still funny.

A few days ago, we were out all day and Abby was robbed of her naps. At dinnertime she apparently couldn't stay awake any longer and just fell asleep in her highchair.

Abby now refuses to eat baby food. One of her first lunches of big girl food was shells-n-cheddar. She really likes them, and the shells were just the right size to fit on the end of her thumb or finger. So that's how she ate them, she'd just stick in her thumb or finger and then eat it right off. Consequently, for the next few meals, she'd try to pick up other items in the same way without success. It was really funny so I got some videos of it.

zoo...again, but not the last time!

Of course we had to take Chad's parents to the zoo. We used both strollers so we could stay as long as possible, but we still didn't get to everything. Jamie and Abby had a great time with grandma and grandpa.

Meerkats...

The kiddo's...

Giant panda...

Gorillas...

Abby really liked looking at the goats and sheep, but Jamie is a bit scared of them...

Jamie really likes the moving ramps at the zoo, and he doesn't like to hold anyone's hand or the handrail because "Jamie big boy"...

Jamie rode the mini train with the grandparents. We're really going to miss Balboa Park!

Should I ride by myself?

No, maybe with Grandma...

Tan toes...

Where's brother?

Here he comes!

oh my gosh - I'm 30!

First, here are some pics from a quick trip to the zoo we took a few weeks ago.

Jamie always thinks this picture is really funny. He starts laughing about from way far back, when you can hardly even see it. He says "be-bra top di-raff. Dat funny!"

And you read right, I am 30! I cannot believe it. We had a small birthday party for me while Chad's parents were here, more for Jamie's benefit than for mine. Of course, I let him blow out the candles.

Here are a few more miscellaneous photos:

One night I was scrapping and Jamie was hangin' out by me. Then I noticed he had put his little hammer in my tote next to mine. How cute!

These are some magnificent playdough fish that I made. The top one is Dory, and the bottom is Nemo's Dad. I would've made them the right colors, but alas, all the colors are mixed together now.

this is life...an update

Here's our little puppy dog, who likes to crawl around with toys in her mouth.

Abby can crawl sooo fast, especially if it's in pursuit of me. And she's walking around the furniture and stuff alot. A few times she has let go without realizing it and stands there by herself for a moment or two. And for some reason, Abby really likes to go round in circles, especially on the kitchen floor. Here is a video I got of her doing this:

Abby and Jamie like to play together, but they also like to fight too. Oh, how early it starts! Here's a video of when I told Jamie to read Abby a story in the tent. Of course, Abby can't sit still so he ended up reading most of it to himself. I was impressed about how much of the book he remembered. I didn't want him to see me, so I filmed it thru the tent window. The book is MyOhMyOh Dinosaurs. Jamie says dinosaur as "at-tore".

And speaking of Abby not sitting still, I'm pretty sure that will probably be a big problem on the airplane. And speaking of flying home, I have moved my flight to October 17th. The task of taking care of the kids without Chad for that long seemed just too daunting. Even though he'll be working 12 hour shifts, it would be better for him to come home late, than not at all, since dinner and bedtime are usually the hardest part of the day.
