ponytails, chicken bones

Yikes, I almost just posted something that I had already posted, but it felt too much like deja-vu so I went thru the blog archives and found what I was looking for. So...I won't tell you again how Abby fell asleep in her highchair.

I will tell you that one day Chad discovered that he could use one of her little clippies as a pony-tail holder. It works quite well and looks pretty cute. I don't bother using a comb to straighten out her hair because she just squirms too much. Anyways, it's a much better style than her mophead.

The other day we had chicken wings for lunch and Jamie surprised me by licking the bones clean. Just like his daddy!

We are getting all packed up here, only 3 days left! My mom is here helping and she is flying home with me so I am so much less stressed! Chad, however, is on his 14th straight day of work. He has to get up at 4:30 in the morning and he can't wait for this to be done!

Abby standing, head bonking

Actually, Abby standing and head bonking have nothing to do with each other, though it might seems like they would. Lately, Abby has been pulling herself up then letting go to see how long she can stand there by herself. Here are some pictures from the other night, as I was trying to get her pajamas on.

Why do I feel like there are always kids hanging on me? I wonder...
pulling herself up...
getting ready to let go...
standing and clapping for herself...
Yeah Abby!

Midway museum

On September 30th we all went to the Midway Museum, which is an old aircraft carrier that has been turned into a museum. Chad got to tell me about some of the similarities and differences between the older and newer aircraft carriers.

In the brig (is that the right lingo?)...

The nice staircase they built for us tourists...

Chad's grandpa Lloyd used to fly this...

All about Abby...again

Abby really likes to play peekaboo and she's remarkably good at it. I didn't even realize she could do it, I guess because I was still thinking she was a baby!

Abby is also getting into the cupboards. Most of them are okay, except I put some rubberbands around the handles to the garbage and recycling so she couldn't get in there. I remember Jamie at this age loved to crawl into the cupboards that we had while we were staying in San Diego in December of '05. Here are those pics, and a video of Abby now.

(beware of the bare butt)

And how much fun do think a rag and a broken chair could be? Apparently lots. I thought surely she would get bored of this but finally I took a video and in total, she probably sat there playing with the rag for at least 20 minutes.
