long time no blog

Some of you may have wondered if I was going to continue blogging now that we're back. Well, the answer is yes! Things have been kinda upside-down lately as you can see from these pics:

First plan of attack? Clean the fridge...

Jamie and Grandpa asleep on the couch...

I just wanted to load the dishwasher without little hands reaching in!

Abby now likes to kneel or stand in her Bumbo seat (better make another warning label for that!)...

The way Jamie sees it - week of 10/7

Jamie got inked again! Currently he has 4 tattoos, but this last one is a "grown-up" tattoo. He's really proud of it and was trying to flex his muscles (see his fists?). I didn't know that you were supposed to put tattoos on the underside of your forearm, so that's my fault if you're wondering!

Here's an archive of his past quotes:
I haven't been good about blogging this week but here are a few things overheard:

"Mommy crapbooking"

"Abby no choke on nat, not dea" (not a good idea)

"oh bebbermine" (oh, nevermind)

10/8
"Abby turn now...(2 seconds later), dat 'nuff, Jamie's turn.

10/10
"Abby, what dough-ing on?" (what's going on?)

10/11
"Want Q - eat." So this one is a little hard to explain. Just before breakfast, Jamie found his letter Q that goes to his leapfrog and he showed me and told me it was a "Q", which I said "yes" to. Then while we were eating he told me he wanted a Q. So I told him that it was right there on the table and he could have it. But he said no "want Q - eat". And this went on for some time with both of us getting very frustrated and me finally spilling out "fine, eat your stupid Q, I don't know what you're talking about" (not my finest moment). Then at lunch, I cut up a kiwi (the first time we've had them in several months) and gave it to Abby. To which Jamie responded "I want Q too". Ooops! He had been thinking that kiwi's were called Q's. Well, he was close.

ponytails, chicken bones

Yikes, I almost just posted something that I had already posted, but it felt too much like deja-vu so I went thru the blog archives and found what I was looking for. So...I won't tell you again how Abby fell asleep in her highchair.

I will tell you that one day Chad discovered that he could use one of her little clippies as a pony-tail holder. It works quite well and looks pretty cute. I don't bother using a comb to straighten out her hair because she just squirms too much. Anyways, it's a much better style than her mophead.

The other day we had chicken wings for lunch and Jamie surprised me by licking the bones clean. Just like his daddy!

We are getting all packed up here, only 3 days left! My mom is here helping and she is flying home with me so I am so much less stressed! Chad, however, is on his 14th straight day of work. He has to get up at 4:30 in the morning and he can't wait for this to be done!

Abby standing, head bonking

Actually, Abby standing and head bonking have nothing to do with each other, though it might seems like they would. Lately, Abby has been pulling herself up then letting go to see how long she can stand there by herself. Here are some pictures from the other night, as I was trying to get her pajamas on.

Why do I feel like there are always kids hanging on me? I wonder...
pulling herself up...
getting ready to let go...
standing and clapping for herself...
Yeah Abby!

"Mommy, curious george bonk head like dis"...
