jamie 3rd birthday

Here are some pics from Jamie's 3rd birthday, which was new year's eve. We went to chucky cheese first and then had cake and ice-cream at home.

This is Abby's shy move, she's scared of the rat sitting next to her (who wouldn't be?)...

Jamie makes a goal (probably because I'm taking a picture)...

Abby warms up to the mouse...
and decides to take a ride with him...

Cake time...

Jamie only uses his fancy thomas napkin after he has clearly used his sleeve first...

Opening presents time...

Abby finds presents too...

Our gift was sitting outside on the doorstep...

Jamie tries to ride but always pushes the pedals backwards, which are the brakes. We were pleasantly surprised when we got back from vacation and found out that grandpa neigh-neigh had taught him how to pedal!

Sydney goes for the whole bowl of chips...
and uses her ice-cream as dip...
Thanks to everyone who came!

Abby update

Abby has started talking a little and it is sooo cute! Her favorite word by far is "uh-oh". Chad says he can hear it in the background whenever he calls. It started out as an "uh-ah" but we knew she was saying it because she always did it whenever she dropped something. Now it is a clear "uh-OH" (and her little lips make a cute little circle!) and she says it not only when she drops something but whenever she feels like it! She's been able to say "da-da" for a long time and sometimes she calls me the same thing. I've gotten her to say "ma-ma-ma" a few times and she can definitely say "ba-ba" (for bottle). She says "hi" (more like "eye") and waves, and can say tickle-tickle "icka-icka". If you ask her who somebody in the family is she'll point to them. She kind-of said peek-a-boo the other day, or at least you can tell she's trying to say it, it's more like "pa-ba" but with the right inflections for trying to say it. I've heard her say "ow" for a kitty before, and last night she kept saying "oh" at the snow. I try to get her to say please but the best she's done is make a "p" sound, although one time she just blew her tongue at me. And sometimes if I ask her to say "all done" she'll go "a-da" but won't do it on her own.

Here is a video of her saying uh-oh:

Christmas videos

On Christmas morning I followed the kids out with the video camera, Jamie just said "presents" and then just stood there. Abby hardly even noticed.

Jamie decides to take everything out of Abby's stocking for her.

Abby gets mad when her present is open and Jamie gets to open one.

Jamie gets excited about his train signal:

Christmas morning

Before the kids woke-up...

Opening presents
Abby really enjoyed opening gifts unlike Jamie did when he was that age, but I guess she had her big brother to watch and learn from!

Later at my sister's

Sydney got very excited about her gifts, even just clothes...

and especially Elmo...
Jamie loved his trains...
Grandpa showing Abby her new shirt...
Abby loves her piggybank...

At the in-laws
We had Anthony's famous thin-crust pizza for dinner, it was the best!

At Chad's house (as he was growing up) they would always pass out all the presents before anyone got to start. At my house, we would never do that, it was always take one present out at a time. Interesting to see different family traditions. Anyways, Jamie and the other kids helped pass out presents...

They still make these?

Kate loves her new beads!

Abby got too hot so we stripped her!

Christmas eve

Christmas Eve we went to dinner at my moms and the kids opened a few presents.

look at those evil eyes...

All the kids got place-settings...

feeding uncle Jon popcorn...

Three lazy dudes (my brothers and former neighbor):

Some sort of wacky pose...

My mom's paintings on the window (ignore lazy dudes)...

My sister getting the gingerbread house ready to decorate...

Finished product (see her blog for pics of the kids decorating)...
Riding uncle's longboard...

Can't we all just get along?
