WILD ANIMAL PARK

We spent better part of one Sunday at the Wild Animal Park. Jamie's favorite part was when we let him feed the Lorikeets, he was so proud of himself! He actually did way better than me. I originally was holding the nectar as we walked into the aviary and immediately a bird landed on my shoulder and startled me so much that I screamed. The attendant waved the bird off and I quickly handed the nectar to Jamie who did great with two birds on him. One even flew up onto his head for a bit!



Then we went to the lookout where we got some great views and Jamie tried out the telescope.


Jamie had been asking everytime we went to the zoo to try these foot massagers, so we finally let him (was it all you dreamed of Jamie?)
And of course we took the safari bus tour. Once we got to the front of line Abby told us she had to pee...but she was great and waited until we got back!

CORONADO

One Saturday we spent the day on Coronado island. First we went to the big playground, then we walked downtown and ate at a sweet diner. After getting back to our car, Chad drove us on base and showed the kids where he worked. We also got to see some helicopters and airplanes on our tour around the base. Finally we stopped at the beach to let the kids play in the sand but by the time we got there the clouds had come and it was a bit chilly, we only lasted about 15 minutes!

One evening as we were heading out to the Farmer's Market, Jamie told me he couldn't find his other sandal so I told him to get his flip-flops (both of them, not one) but when we got there we saw he was wearing one of each shoe!

I took the kids on a special field trip arranged thru the library to ride the Lorax trolley (Dr. Seuss), we all got to ride it for free and the kids got special goody bags to bring home with them. Tulip and Atley went too, so the kids had a great time.






On Mother's Day Chad made me breakfast and got me a mocha at Starbucks. Then we went shopping at a nearby mall in La Jolla. After we came home, I got to scrapbook for a bit while the kids (and Chad) took a nap, and to end the day Chad made me dinner too! We took these pictures out in the courtyard before the day was over.

LEGOLAND!!!

The kids were talking and asking about it for months..."when can we go to Legoland???" Well, we took them for the entire day, taking turns watching Tristan and taking the other two on rides. Oh, and Tristan got to go on a few baby-friendly rides too. And now the kids are already talking "next time we go to Legoland..."

Driver's school: at first Abby couldn't figure it out (and even started to cry) but the attendant helped her about a quarter-way around the track and once she got it, she had a blast and was SO proud herself! They even give you a driver's license at the end.

April this and that

We got some flowers starting to bloom back at home (this picture taken with our new lens, f-stop wide open)

Abby loves to water the flowers (even though they don't need it yet, with all the rain we had in April)

Story-time:


Jamie loves to play monopoly, and to setup the money and be banker. He even made this divider one day to keep our money straight.


Abby got a Hello Kitty glamour set from grandma, and it came with some press-on nails. She had them on for about 5 minutes before taking them off.

Jamie's last day of preschool was right before we left for San Diego.  He loves the monkey bars!

This video was taken back at the hospital when Tristan was born.  Chad is trying to convince Abby that her name is Abigail (why?, he says he calls her Abigail for "long").  I'm thinking that she thinks he's saying "Abby-girl", but I'm not sure.


Here's another older video, Jamie was practicing his jumping and Abby wanted to try too, but the stool was way too high for her, so I put a book on the ground for her to jump over and she was so proud!
