would you like to see more of our backyard?

I know I would. It would sure be nice if it stopped raining. Here are some rare glimpses of nice weather so far this year:

Abby will ask me for a vase and pick me dandelions.

Playing in the playhouse:

Jamie likes to play catch with the football:

Up the stairs!

Science Center

After Chad went to Japan AGAIN (at the beginning of May), we planned a family day out as soon as he got home. Literally he met us from the airport in Seattle and we headed for the Seattle Center. Chad was jet-lagged and still drowsy from the sleeping pills, but it turned out to be a good day.
{fyi: I got sick of this unmanageably long hair and chopped it off!}

The kids are super excited!
First up: the dinosaurs (Tristan growled at all of them)
Then the touch pool and kiddy area:

Then we took a break and ate lunch at the Seattle Center House food court. It was such a nice day that we walked over to the fountain too. It happened to be some sort of kids' weekend and there were several booths giving away stuff like free juice-boxes, snacks, posters, etc.

Tristan investigates the fountain:
When we went back to the Science Center, we checked out the bug area. I went into the butterfly house with Jamie and Abby but Abby and I were too freaked out by all the butterflies flapping around and we ran off and left Jamie in there. Chad went in to retrieve him and he was having fun trying to find all the different kinds.

You can see Abby's free Pirates of the Caribbean tattoo. It doesn't quite fit her "princess" style.

big boat and fritz

One Saturday in June, Chad took the kids down to the "big boat" and fritz for lunch. They went with some friends too and apparently it was a day for being silly! Looks like they had a great time (and I know I did scrapbooking).
