Tidbits

Jamie's 3rd grade graduation ceremony today (I'll have a video to share later)

My little helpers

I've been waiting for this book for 2 years - picked it up last week and am going to the book signing in 2 weeks.  So excited!

Here you can see a glimpse of our remodeled living room and Chad's attempt to hang the new picture on the ceiling ;)

Here's one reason I don't blog as much anymore - studies show you have richer memories of events that aren't spent behind a camera.  I still try to capture the moment, but I'm okay with just a few {imperfect} shots.

Cupcakes and shopping on BI.

Jamie's baseball season is already over - I miss watching them play!

Summer videos

I've updated some of my blogs from last summer with videos, but I thought I'd share a few of the interesting ones here.

San Diego 2014 - What does the list say?

At the end January, Chad and I took a short trip by ourselves to my favorite city, San Diego. He bought the airline tickets for me as a Christmas gift. I got to pick where we stayed, and I ended up finding us a vacation rental on Mission Beach. It wasn't hot outside but it was in the 60's most of the time so compared to home, it felt warm to us. We hadn't been to San Diego since Tristan was a baby (4 years ago), so this was a real treat. Not wanting to forget any of our favorite spots, we made a casual itinerary, or list if you will, of the places we wanted to visit. At one point we were trying to figure out what to do and Chad quipped "What does the list say?", but to the tune of "What does the fox say?", or at that time in our house, it was commonly "What do the hawks say?". So that became our mantra for the whole trip. And I did keep the list, as a memento. We didn't stick to the itinerary but we did end up visiting most of the places on there.

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen a bunch of these photos when I first took them, but there are some extra ones too from our point and shoot.

The apartment

A cool coffee shop we found down the street.

Outside on the patio of our building, just behind Chad is the path to the beach.

We took a few runs together on the boardwalk.

Extraordinary desserts

Great desserts and food, but really loud - it was a Friday night.

We got the creme brulle bun

Another favorite spot - Gyros at Kojacks at Belmont park.

We did something new and rented bicycles, then biked all the way around Mission Bay.

On a cloudy we headed to La Jolla cove where we walked along the coast and did some shopping.

Tons of seals on the napping on the beach!

We spent a lot of time relaxing on the couch reading/ watching tv.

We had a small view of the ocean through our dining room window.

On the Pacific Pier.

On the last day we went boogie boarding.

With wetsuits on the water was not bad at all.

There was a sailboat race going on at the same time.

Coming out to see the sunset.

Not pictured is our trip to Oggi's pizza (and a movie after - American Hustle) and also to In & Out Burger on our first day, and finally to Anthony's fish bar on our way to the airport.
