a spider story

Here's a video Chad captured of Jamie telling a story about mommy and spiders:

Also, here's some pics of Abby in her new "nook". She can only go backwards in her walker at the moment and she often gets stuck under the counter.

And here's a pic of Abby in her new outfit aunt Carrie bought her (so cute!):

We lowered Abby's crib last night to prevent Jamie from climbing in, since he had been climbing in her crib and waking her up, and possibly stepping on her. But this morning I woke up to Abby screaming and found Jamie in her crib once again. He apparently can still climb in but it is more of a crash landing now and he landed on Abby. I'm pretty sure she's fine but she was not happy about the whole thing. Her crib mattress is now on our floor, and we'll move the entire crib into our room tomorrow. We don't really want her in our room but have run out of ideas of what else to do. We have disciplined Jamie for disobeying and for hurting his sister but can't really let it go on hurting Abby until Jamie responds positively. This too shall pass. Keep up your prayers!

happenings in San Dog

Well, we're almost settled in here. I've gotten some baby stuff for our new place on craig's list - a jumparoo, baby gate, toys, etc. Abby really loves her new jumparoo, see the video here:

Chad just went out and a got a surfboard that he found on craigslist. Now that we've got all the craigs-listing taken care of, we can get on with our lives. It seems like I've been running around all week. Yesterday we did go to Mission Beach for most of the day.

Jamie has seemed to express his frustration with the changes by acting out. It seems to have gotten a little better so hopefully he will adjust soon. It is hard to explain to him that this is only temporary and that people will come to visit. My mom and dad are coming next Saturday so that will be good for him. In the meantime, pray that I don't have to clean up too much more poop, fish entire rolls of TP out of the toilet, scrape pen marks off the table, or that Abby doesn't get stepped on by her big brother. Both the kids have a cold so that doesn't help either.

Jamie does enjoy watching videos on the computer of his cousin Sydney (nee-nee). You can see him watching the videos of her here:

If anyone else has videos to post, let me know, I'm sure he'd love to watch vidoes of other family members or friends.

abby's new hairdo

This is my favorite new way to do Abby's hair, pigtails. It's not exactly Abby's favorite because she normally screams and wiggles while I try to get the hair into the holders, but like my mom always said "you gotta suffer for beauty" (or something like that). That was what she normally told me when she was ripping the snarls out of my hair (don't worry mom - I'm not bitter about that)!

token picture of Jamie wondering why I'm taking so many pictures of his sister!

Abby eats cereal...kind of

This was a few weeks ago, Abby had rice cereal, actually this was about the 3rd or 4th time I gave i to her. She mostly spits it out but she does get a little down. That's okay, since it's just about trying it out the first few times. I want to start giving it to her everyday but I need to find a highchair first (there was a sweet one on Craig's list today but I was too late). I thought these pictures were really cute since she just wanted to play with the spoon herself.

we made it!!!

We arrived in San Diego yesterday (Monday). It was a pretty good trip all-in-all. The kids did great, we didn't have any breakdowns (of kids) until about 15 minutes out of San Diego when they both decided that they had had enough. We did have some car trouble near San Francisco when the car started to overheat, but Chad spent part of the next day "fixing" the car (depending on what your definition of fixing is), and we still arrived in San Diego on time. The car is still running okay but apparently the radioator thermostat needs replacing and the current one has holes drilled in it to keep the car from overheating. Anyways, I took the kids out to the zoo today to get out, and we're still unpacking and getting things organized. Can't wait to hear from everyone - please leave comments (it's like getting email!). Here are some pictures from our stay in San Francisco:

Jamie on a coin-operated ride at the mall where Chad was fixing the car in the parking lot.

The kids slept well in the car!

Can't go to San Fran without visiting the Ghiradelli Chocolate Factory and getting a hot fudge sundae!

Abby's first trip to San Francisco was a blustery one.

Sunrise out of our hotel the morning we left San Fran for San Dog.
