strange kids

Here is a video of Abby getting air off her walker! She's gotten a lot faster now but she can still only go backwards.

Also, here are some pics of when I found Jamie asleep on his floor, when he was supposed to be taking a nap. Owell, I guess I really don't care where he decides to sleep, as long as it's somewhere in his room and he doesn't bother me. (Naps are for mommies too!)

sound asleep amongst his toys...

waking up...

a little dazed, still half-asleep.

strange happenings

Okay, so about a week and a half ago when Abby and Jamie were still in the same room, Chad and I were out sitting on the couch watching t.v. when we heard a loud crash. I thought that maybe something had happened in the kids room so I ran in there, but Chad quickly figured out that it had been a car outside that hit the Rio Vista sign right our apartment complex. It must've hit it hard because it totally crunched part of the concrete and made the metal Rio Vista part fall down. I also saw skid marks on the palm tree just down from the sign as well. But we saw no sign of the car shortly after it happened, so it was a sign hit and run! We wondered how long the city would take to fix it, but today they had crews outside and completely took the entire concrete structure out. Who knows if they'll put a new one in, something else, or just leave it.

I took pictures from our balcony the next morning.

Whoever it was must've taken the corner way too fast! It's not uncommon to here random screechings of brakes.

big apartment in the valley

"Little house on the westside" is now "big apartment in the valley". Our apartment here in mission valley is actually bigger than the first floor of our house back in Bremerton. It's pretty nice to have so much room, it doesn't feel like your constantly tripping over baby items, plus there was room in our bedroom for the crib. We can't wait for people to come and visit, we've bought an aero-bed (would people mind chipping in $20 when you come to stay?), and there's an extra bathroom and plenty room in the kids closet (for stuff, not people - don't worry we won't make you sleep in there). There are 2 pools here, each one has a hottub and a BBQ area. The beach is a 10 minute drive, and so is downtown San Diego. Here are some pics I took of the apartment:
This is the kitchen, with stainless steel appliances.

Spacious bathroom (2 of them).

a spider story

Here's a video Chad captured of Jamie telling a story about mommy and spiders:

Also, here's some pics of Abby in her new "nook". She can only go backwards in her walker at the moment and she often gets stuck under the counter.

And here's a pic of Abby in her new outfit aunt Carrie bought her (so cute!):

We lowered Abby's crib last night to prevent Jamie from climbing in, since he had been climbing in her crib and waking her up, and possibly stepping on her. But this morning I woke up to Abby screaming and found Jamie in her crib once again. He apparently can still climb in but it is more of a crash landing now and he landed on Abby. I'm pretty sure she's fine but she was not happy about the whole thing. Her crib mattress is now on our floor, and we'll move the entire crib into our room tomorrow. We don't really want her in our room but have run out of ideas of what else to do. We have disciplined Jamie for disobeying and for hurting his sister but can't really let it go on hurting Abby until Jamie responds positively. This too shall pass. Keep up your prayers!

happenings in San Dog

Well, we're almost settled in here. I've gotten some baby stuff for our new place on craig's list - a jumparoo, baby gate, toys, etc. Abby really loves her new jumparoo, see the video here:

Chad just went out and a got a surfboard that he found on craigslist. Now that we've got all the craigs-listing taken care of, we can get on with our lives. It seems like I've been running around all week. Yesterday we did go to Mission Beach for most of the day.

Jamie has seemed to express his frustration with the changes by acting out. It seems to have gotten a little better so hopefully he will adjust soon. It is hard to explain to him that this is only temporary and that people will come to visit. My mom and dad are coming next Saturday so that will be good for him. In the meantime, pray that I don't have to clean up too much more poop, fish entire rolls of TP out of the toilet, scrape pen marks off the table, or that Abby doesn't get stepped on by her big brother. Both the kids have a cold so that doesn't help either.

Jamie does enjoy watching videos on the computer of his cousin Sydney (nee-nee). You can see him watching the videos of her here:

If anyone else has videos to post, let me know, I'm sure he'd love to watch vidoes of other family members or friends.
