Sunday fun

On Sunday, August 12th, we went to church at Crossroads then headed to Imperial Beach for the afternoon. The beach was hardly crowded at all and we parked almost right next to it! Abby stayed in her tent or under the umbrella and did really good. Chad and I took turns boogie-boarding (I caught 20 waves!). An ice-cream truck showed up in the parking lot where we parked so I walked over and got an ice-cream bar and a Spiderman popsicle for Jamie.

Cool Sally glasses...

"top-sickle" face...

Later that day, the Seahawks played the San Diego Chargers, literally 2 miles down the road. If tickets hadn't been so darn expensive for a game that didn't even count, we might've gone. But anyways, we watched the game on t.v., Abby really enjoyed cheering for the Hawks.

all about Abby

Hunchback Abby (with Mac truck)...

Starting to pull herself up...

No we did not really give her beer...
Chad gave Abby his empty Corona bottle and she immediately tried to drink out of it (how early they learn). When she got a small taste of it, she didn't even make a bad face, instead she smacked her lips like it was good!

That little rascal...into the phone again!

Abby likes to thump her feet under the table...

Copycat...
Here, Abby was copying me smacking my lips, but then she got distracted by Jamie and Chad yelling.

more videos!

Okay, many of you have seen the previous video of Abby with a towel on her head. This is what happened: I gave her bath before bedtime, wrapped her in her towel, with the towel over the BACK of her head, and set her down on the floor so I could go let the water out of the tub. When I came back, that is what I had found, so I ran to go grab the camera. I did NOT put the towel over her head to see what she would do. What kind of mother do you think I am?

I have been taking lots of videos lately trying to get different things recorded but it's always so much funnier the first time they do it. Jamie tells lots of stories now and always will give you some sort of funny gestures to go along with it. He'll say something like "such-and-such, like this..." and do some funny thing to show you what he's talking about. It's really cute.

So, here's the story behind this first video: as soon as you take Abby's diaper off, she tries to roll around and sit up. She's been sitting up a lot more lately, in fact, I've been finding her in her crib sitting up. Jamie decided he wanted his video taken (as you'll see), so that's what the next movie is about.

It's Jamie turn to get a video of him, and so I ask him a few questions and he dissappears, plus Abby bites me as she's rolling around on the floor - not exactly what I had envisioned the video to be.

In this next one, Jamie is trying to show me how he holds his breath in the pool, and how he swings the bat. Then he tells me about his favorite Sydney videos (the ones where she's eating cheese, crackers, and a pickle).

Finally, Jamie had just gone #2 in the toilet and he was telling me about it. I had the camera nearby, so I had him tell me again.

Abby's mealtime and bathtime

Abby has always hated wearing her bib (who wouldn't?), but now that she has figured out how to take it off, we have a serious problem. She is so fast at it, it was hard to capture it on video. And usually she throws it straight onto to the floor, just to show me her distaste for it. I guess I will have to get some that tie, or go over her head, it would probably be awhile until she figured out how to get those off. Here are some videos that show how much she hates it:

Abby has always loved the water and bathtime. Now that she can sit up so well, I've been putting her in this bathseat and she seems to really like it. And when she's using it, her and Jamie can take a bath together (although here they're not).

Sitting in her bath seat, chewing on a toy-
Blue eyes-
Chewing on the washcloth...
...discovering that she can suck out the water (gross!).

This video is hilarious, I could not stop laughing while I was taking it. Abby could hear me the whole time so she kept looking around but couldn't see anything!

chili's - UPDATED

So last week we went out to dinner with Pat & Kristy at Chili's. It was pretty late so Abby fell asleep in Kristy's arms. Of course we had to get their awesome dessert - Paradise Pie. Jamie loved the "aw-pwimes" (ice-cream).

Then, on Monday, there was a car crash outside on the corner, in the same spot as last time, except now there isn't a sign there anymore, so the car hit one of the palm trees instead. There was nobody home at the time, but they were out there a long time waiting for the tow-truck so we got some pics for the blog.
