out to lunch, monkey song

So last week I took the kids out to lunch (remember, "no to-jo's, juss res-trant!"). So anyways, here are a few pics from the event.

Abby, get your feet off the table!

Here also, is a video of how Jamie reacts to the "monkey song". You see, Grandpa & Grandma (with a neigh-neigh) sent us a CD of a bunch of toddler songs. Jamie loves to listen to it, partly because he thinks that he is watching tv, since the tv has to be on to play the CD in the DVD player (we have no radio or CD player here). So anyways, the monkey song is "Five little monkeys, jumpin on the bed, monkey fell off, and bumped his head...". Jamie loves this song and knows exactly how it starts, so usually I miss his reaction. This time, I turned the camera on before the previous song was over and just waited. Of course, because I had the camera on, he didn't do his "monkey dance" as well as he normally does. Usually, he does his imitation of a monkey (like he does at the beginning) for much longer. But it's still worth watching...

The way Jamie sees it, week of 9/9

9/15
"Bye-bye nilk", just before he drinks his milk.

9/14
I hear something at 11pm so I go in the kids room and Jamie is standing there. I ask him what he wants and he says "cwa-claw"(washcloth). So a few minutes later I ask him why he needs a washcloth and he says something like "little boys nee' cwa-claw". I gave him one and put him back to bed but he didn't have any idea what I was talking about this morning.

9/13
"You go poop?" (me "no") "Juss go pee?" Said loudly in the lady's room at Oggi's restaurant, with others in the restroom as well.

9/12
"Tode(told) you, keep Abby in tade(shade)." When we were out in the sun, because I'm always trying to keep Abby in the shade.

9/11
"No to-jos, just res-raunt." (No trader joe's, just restaurant) Jamie said this when I told I'd take him out to lunch, because last week he wanted to eat in a restaurant while we were out at Mission Bay and we told him "no" and that we were getting dinner at Trader Joe's instead.

9/10
"Wook-it dada, dogs poop nin' nare (in there)." [Pointing at a grassy area in our complex]

9/9
"Wook-it (look-it) mama, 'moke (smoke [from BBQ])." [touches finger to cheek then holds it up] "psss - 'mokin' hot!"

lil wild blueberry girl

Abby loves blueberries. I buy her the little wild blueberries so I don't have to worry about her choking, and usually remove her clothes so I don't have to worry about staining.

Jamie gets a haircut and...we've got a date!

Jamie finally got a haircut while my mom was here. She did practically have to sit on him (or at least hold him down). I'm not sure why he's so scared of it. I think what the worst part was for him was the hair all over him since I just had him in a diaper. I guess next time I'll try a drape or long sleeves!

Before...

After...

We're coming home!
The kids and I have plane tickets. We're coming home Saturday October 6th. I'm so excited, although the bad news is that Chad is not scheduled to come home until November 5th. Hopefully it will go by fast, and the project will not be delayed.

our little prisoner, I mean princess

We bought this gate off of Craig's list when we got here and it has finally served it's purpose!
