mariner's game & ferry ride

On Sunday, September 7th, I took Jamie to a Mariner's game after church. We rode the ferry across, walked to the game, kinda watched it, got a bike-taxi back to the ferry, and rode it back where Chad and Abby picked us up. It was a long day for a kid who usually takes a nap so he was a little difficult by the end, but still glad we had the time together. I felt bad though because he was so disappointed that he didn't get to catch a ball. A few days before the game, I found a kids glove at the consignment store and got it for him, telling him he could wear it at the game in case in balls come our way. I wonder if maybe he thought we were going to play in the game because he was pretty ticked that all the people on the field (the players) got to catch the ball instead of him.

These people eventually came back but by then the other people in the row had left so we just scooted over, and then I tried to leave early but he protested, so we ended up in another pair of seats at the end.


On the ferry, we took self-portraits just for fun and made different faces:

first day of preschool

Jamie's first day of preschool was September 8th. He wore his new bear shirt that I got him for the first day. Chad was home that day so the whole family walked him to school, then Abby and I walked up there and picked him up a few hours later. Abby is allowed to play on the playground when we go and pick him up so I always let them stay and play after school is over, and they both love it! Jamie always says now "Mrs. Brown lives too far away." Of course, he totally thinks that his teacher lives there and he says that so I will drive him and he won't have to walk. But I'm hoping that we will get a chance to at least walk back (because we're too much in a hurry to drop him off) once or twice a week. Here are some pictures of his first day:

My camera battery died on our 2nd day but I did manage to get a few pictures beforehand. And Kristy took a few pictures for me too! We had a lot of fun in the actual campground this year except for the fact that it started pouring about 3 a.m. Sunday morning and didn't stop. We went out to breakfast and came back to find our tent starting to leak, so we packed up just like everyone else and headed home. It was a bummer because we had all planned to stay Sunday night too, better luck next year.

10th anniversary

I can't believe we've been married 10 years! I really don't feel that old, I'm hoping people were right when they said we got married young! Well, we spent our anniversary out camping at Kalaloch. My mom and dad (or mom mostly) watched the kids while we went out to a great dinner at the lodge. It was kinda funny because we forgot to bring a light with us and on our way back from dinner it was pitch black (I was scared - Chad said he had trekked down many a trail in the same conditions). Next week we are planning on going to Kauai to officially celebrate!
