visiting the lake with dad

As part of my Mother's Day "weekend", Chad took the kids out to the lake for a day while I went to Seattle with Bridget for a baby shower and some shopping, and then back home for some scrapbooking. What more could a mom ask for (well, more about that in the next post)? Chad took some great pictures and it was such a beautiful day.

They enjoyed a paddle-boat ride:
This is how Jamie managed to peddle:

Jamie also learned how to fish:

And Abby wanted to try too:

But mostly she wanted to have tea parties in the playhouse (like always):

go fly a kite

Jamie got a cheap spiderman kite from Walmart and really wanted to try and fly it, so Chad took the kids to a park and let them have a try. Here are some pictures that he got:

These were taken last month, by I got some really cute pictures of the kids, so I just had to share them.

Here Jamie is learning how to pump:

Easter - part 2

We had dinner at Chad's parents house. Sadly, Abby was sick and had a fever but we gave her some Motrin and she felt well enough to do the egg hunt. I'm so glad that it stopped raining and finally cleared up by the evening and I had a chance to hide all the eggs for the kids after dinner before it got dark.

Jamie and Abby both loved the egghunt but I made the mistake of telling Jamie that is was like a race and he went full force into egg hunting and wanted to know who was winning! Abby liked to point out the eggs to me first before grabbing them, but that was a mistake because then Amalia or Kate would run up and grab it before she had a chance!

All in all, it was a nice day and so was the two-tone mocha cheesecake that I made (sounds like a post for my food blog).
