So I know we only got a month until school starts, but I have to share these photos from both Abby's and Jamie's "moving-up" ceremonies at their school.

Jamie's class had a latin dance performance and afterwards got to show us his totem pole creation that they had been working on class. Halfway thur the performance he runs back to our seats because the second half of the dance is supposed to be with a partner from the audience.  Jamie had already taught Abby how to do the salsa at home but didn't tell her why.  However, she was too shy to get and dance so I was his partner instead!

Jamie's heritage presentation

Jamie had to do a presentation on his parent's heritage. My for my side of the family we picked Irish to simplify things for him. He made a poster to present (which is what the video is). Laura loaned me her Krumkake maker and I made a batch the night before and brought them over for his presentation, we filled them with whipped cream and the kids loved it! We also bought an old Irish folk song by the Dubliners and his teacher played it while we passed out the cookies!

Port Madison boat trip

Since we had never fully unpacked the boat from the weekend before, we decided to head out again for another overnight trip. This time we anchored out in Port Madison, again rafted to my parents. Lots of fun and beautiful weather this time!

The moment that Grandma and Grandpa pull alongside, the kids flee like our boat is sinking.

Port Madison was lovely - it was cool to look at all the massive Bainbridge Island homes.

We leisurely sailed home with the main sail and since we were going downwind it was steady enough for the kids to sit on the rail and "fish" with their nets.

All I had to do was watch out for the boom to switch sides occasionally.

Jamie adds some tension on the sail to increase our speed.

Tristan, at 3, is 100 times easier to handle on the boat then when he was 2.

Coming up on Agate Pass bridge I had an idea to pretend that out mast might hit it. (To be honest, Tristan was concerned at first before I ever even got the idea)

But Grandpa was gaining on us since he was motoring now and so he went under first.

Tristan was quite concerned but let out a huge sigh of relief when Grandpa's boat did not collide with the bridge!

And then of course we didnt't either.

Whew!!!  That was close (or not), since we had just gone under the bridge the day before.

Kindergarten field trip to water park

I volunteered to walk with the kindergarten classes down to the library and then on to the fountain parks in downtown. The kids were supposed to bring extra clothes and towels. Many did not. One girl was wearing a sweater dress with leggings and she was completely soaked. I felt sorry for her on the walk home. Abby did pretty good about not getting too wet. She didn't bring extra clothes, she just chose to wade in the water. If you want to know what it was like to chaperone, watch this short video and you'll get a good idea :)
