July misc.

Belfair
We spent an evening at Belfair visiting with Chris and Myra who were camping there for the weekend (and also Pat &Kristy who were there for the evening as well) .  Jamie and Abby spent the day out there with friends and we came out with Tristan when Chad got off work.  We brought some dinner and s'more makings and the kids had fun playing in the creek, riding bikes, and Tristan was super proud of himself for climbing the big rock at the playground.

Just like dad!

Umm...My face is up there Chad!

Swimming
We spent plenty of time at the lake swimming and sunbathing. This was just one afternoon that I spent there with some friends.
Tristan goes everywhere now on his own, well as long as there's a lifejacket involved!

Blake Island
One weekend we anchored out off of Blake Island.  We took the dinghy to the beach with hopes of laying in the sun watching the kids play in the water.  Unfortunately the beach was full of sand fleas and ants so it didn't go as planned.  We still had some fun and got a bit of sailing in too.

Track camp
Jamie went to track camp again this year with his best friend Otto.  They had a lot of fun and I came to watch a few of his events at the track meet on Friday.

I think was a bit cold?

Jamie actually had a pulled muscle in his leg so he's not running as he normally does.

Day out with Thomas means day out with Dad

Day out with Thomas has officially moved from dad&daughter day to father&son day.  This year Chad took just Tristan to Day out with Thomas (Chad and Abby chose something else, more on that later). Tristan adores Thomas so he was so excited and still talks about it.  To make it even better they also got to take a ferry and a bus (Tristan is big into any type of mass transportation!).

Waving perhaps?

I love how he is eying Sir Topham Hatt out of the corner of his eye.

the rest of our 4th of July wekend

For the rest of our 4th of July weekend, we headed over to Bell Harbor (my favorite!!) for 2 nights. While we were in Seattle, we went to Pike Place market, walked through the sculpture park and even saw some tide pools at a pocket beach with Seattle Aquarium naturalists. We continued our walk up to the Seattle Center where we let the kids play in the fountain and finally took the monorail back to Westlake and walked back to the boat. We had fun lazying in the sun, getting ice-cream, watching the cruise ships, and going out to dinner at the Irish restaurant on the waterfront.

Cheers!

4th of July celebrations

3rd of July - Poulsbo fireworks in Liberty Bay.  The Day's spent the night with us on the boat.  Abby and Lulu shared a bed and so did Jamie and Tristan.  It was a little cramped but it was fine for one night. Lulu made me nervous because she was using the boat as a slide when we were leaning over while sailing.  I kept thinking she was gonna slide right under the rail since she's so skinny! Mom and Dad and Pam, Joe, and Ian were supposed to raft to us but mom&dad had engine trouble. Good thing mom dropped off my ciabatta rolls before we left so that we could have our deli sandwiches for dinner. We were a bit closer this year so it was a great show!

4th of July - after dropping the Day's off in Brownsville, I headed home to take a shower and grab a few more things that we needed for the rest of the weekend. Once I got back to the boat we headed off again towards Blakely harbor, a small little inlet off Bainbridge Island.  I figured the houses around it would likely put on a fireworks show of their own and I was right!  We were hoping to see the Seattle fireworks from Lake Union as well but they were just out of view - but no matter, it was a beautiful view regardless.
