bowling

This was one of our "mommy-son" dates. I took Jamie to the bowling alley for the first time. I had no idea that these days you can get bumpers that just go up-and-down for whoever needs them. So Jamie had bumpers and I did not (although I could've used them too - LOL!). He did a great job but it was so not a good sound when he "threw" (dropped) the ball from chest high!

He loved to check out the screen after his turn to see how many he got and to watch the funny videos they played:
here we go:
waiting, waiting, waiting...
so heavy!
thankfully we didn't leave any dents!
not so happy with the result:

yoga

The kids love to "exercise" with me. Jamie will ask me if I can put on the exercise "movie" (which is a yoga video). This is pretty cute except the problem is that they want to share my mat and block and constantly want to crawl under me when I'm making a "bridge". Jamie also loses his balance a lot and will fall against me or grab me for balance, which in turn will cause me to lose my balance, which is exactly what I'm trying to work on while doing yoga!

The good news is that they usually lose interest in about 5-10 minutes! Chad snapped these photos, but Abby got super shy when she saw the camera...

reaching high...

Jamie is really good at this pose, he calls it the "leg one"...
sharing my block...
alone at last! Triangle pose...

umbrellas and a trip to the park

This was not on that gorgeously warm weekend we had recently, as you can see by the winter coats. But it was a beautiful day so we ventured out to the park, Abby and I walked, and Jamie rode his bike.

I like this picture because if you look close enough you can see me in the reflection of Jamie's sunglasses:

Umbrellas
The kids really wanted their own umbrellas, and I thought that was reasonable request, living in WA, and all, so we found these cute ones at Walmart. The first few days they decided to use them everywhere, I looked back in the car and they both had them up over their heads in their carseats!

new food blog

With the increasing amount of recipes I'd like to post, I decided to start a new blog specifically for that. You can view it here and there will also be a link to it in the sidebar. I'll try to update it weekly.

westside eats

I recently read that with the economy the way that it is, there has been a lot more women blogging about how to make stuff homemade instead of buying it. I hope to be able to contribute as well!

oh Abby Jane

This is the day that Abby decided to turn her lion into a tiger and put some stripes onto herself as well:

(you can tell from her face that she knows she's in trouble) I have yet to get the marker off. It was such impeccable timing as I was going to bring the lion to the consignment store that weekend, she must've sensed that and not wanted me to get rid of it!

Here are some cute pics of me drying her hair before bedtime:
